Tattoo with a gun Has been gaining popularity in recent years. Weapons give power, and power gives freedom, because a man with a gun in his hands is able to fight back, protect himself, control the situation.

Not surprisingly, tattoos depicting all kinds of firearms are now becoming more common. Let's take a look at the plot options, stylistic solutions and meaning of the tattoo gun on the hand or any other part of the body.

What is a lady's gun

Ladies', vest, parlor or pocket pistols are small devices whose purpose is concealed carry, unlike, for example, the service weapons of police officers. Such small-caliber handguns include .25 ACP ammunition, with muzzle energy equal to 20 percent of the standard 9x16mm Parabellum.

Pocket guns are mainly used for two purposes: self-defense of citizens and as a backup gun for law-enforcement officers and special forces. The second option is the reason why the ladies' small pistols use the same types of cartridges that are used for the main service weapons of the police and military.

lady gun

The first pocket pistols appeared in the 19th century - the ancestor of them is "Derringer" (the name is derived from the surname of the creator of this type of weapon - H. Derringer). They were nicknamed "bulldogs" because of their short barrel. The device quickly became popular in Europe and the USA thanks to its simplicity, reliability, portability and high power. By the way even today silent models of "Derringers" are used by Russian special services and intelligence officers.

Places for tattooing with a revolver

The most popular place for this symbol is where weapons are actually worn. The revolver tattoo is often done on the abdomen, below. The weapon is as if hidden and only the handle sticks out from behind the belt. Girls often wear a revolver tattoo on the hip, especially beautiful when this picture is combined with garter belts for stockings. Also: on the palm (thumb and forefinger), lower back, neck, collarbones, on the shoulder blades and on the chest. Interesting looks tattoo revolver on the leg, when the muzzle is directed downwards and it turns out the effect that the weapon is hidden in the sock.

The size of this image depends on the place, as well as on the style and detailing chosen.

Most often it is depicted surrounded by roses, complemented by inscriptions and wings, floral ornaments. It is surrounded by smoke or tongues of flame from the muzzle. Often there is an inscription reflecting the credo of life. It can be created entirely from patterns or from words in different fonts. The photos will better tell you what a revolver tattoo can be decorated with.

Features of pocket guns

Let's touch on the main distinguishing features of small-caliber handguns:

  • Ergonomics. The shape of such weapons is always smoothed, devoid of protruding elements - the gun will be useless if it gets stuck in a pocket or caught in the floors of clothes. The triggers and levers are replaced by buttons, the safeties are moved to places where they are difficult to hit accidentally, or are absent altogether - the gun is designed to be self-loading.
  • Using the same caliber ammunition as the service weapon. This increase in the power of a ladies' pistol does not give any reason to consider it a toy pistol.
  • Miniature mechanism. This peculiarity leads to obvious inconveniences - the grip is sometimes not easy to hold with the little finger. Manufacturers solve this problem in different ways - lengthening the magazine, moving it forward and down under the chamber.

When Josephine Darke came into the office, Gaunt was in his usual posture, lounging in a chair by the fire, his feet on the fire grate, absorbed in blowing rings of tobacco smoke.

- Miss Miranda Grey is waiting for you outside," Josephine said at once. - But from the look in her eye, I don't think you're very popular with her.

- I'd be surprised if I belonged to that kind of people," Gaunt grinned. - Get her in here.

He took his feet off the mantelpiece and sat down at the desk, a cigarette in his mouth.

Miranda Gray walked in. Gaunt cast a fleeting glance at her, noticing the splendidly tailored suit, the short gloves, the lovely little leg, the luxurious fox fur that framed the white oval of her face. He stood up and slid his cigarette case toward her.

- Sit down, Miss Grey," he suggested. - Have a cigarette, and I'll call for a cup of tea.

He pressed the bell button on his desk.

- Thank you," she said. - Don't...

- Don't worry," Gaunt interrupted her, still grinning. - Don't you think we could be friends? Would you have the nerve to do such a thing?

She took off her furs. The detective, still looking at her, tried to remember the last time he had seen such an attractive woman.

- Is it possible, Mr. Gaunt?

Josephine Dark brought a cup of tea. Gaunt waited until she left, then stood with his back to the fireplace, smiling at Miranda.

- I don't see any reason why we couldn't be good friends," he said in a friendly way. - You see, Miss Grey, there are two kinds of private detectives: the kind who believes the client must always be right, and the other kind who prefers to have a sober mind. Suppose you and I, we both opened our cards. Do you think that would help the case?

After thinking for a while, she muttered:

- Why not? And perhaps I should admit that I was rude to you last night.

- Don't worry about it," he said. - You were angry. You have outbursts of anger, don't you?

She smiled. Gaunt noticed the beauty of her small white teeth.

- I'm afraid so," she agreed. - That's my flaw, but it never lasts long.

- Okay. Well, now we know each other. You can be irritated sometimes, and I have a sober mind. So I'm going to start opening up my cards to you. I probably only heard one side of the case from Mr. Zona. He said that for your sake he gave a job in Manchester to Michael, whom I understand you are keen on. He says somebody's got him fooled, and he's suspicious of Lori-mer. Said he took the trouble to look into Lorimer's reputation, and apparently found it pretty badly tarnished. He supposes he knows about it, and is therefore dangerous. It seems that somebody once opened the gas in Zon's apartment. He claims he can't get rid of Lorimer because he might know too much. That's one side of the case. Perhaps you don't believe everything?

She pressed her lips together firmly.

- It's nothing but gossip, a lie, a wild lie, Mr. Gaunt," she exclaimed. - Michael is the nicest man in the world. I know that. I'm even going to marry him. Now I'll tell you the other part of the story.

I started working for Mr. Zona a long time ago. I was happy to get this opportunity. I always wanted to be a singer and this was my chance. Mr. Zona always pretended to be a friend of my father's. I believed it because at the time there was no reason not to believe it. Now I don't believe it.

I met Michael when I was singing at one of Zona's clubs, the Pirate Club in Manchester. Zone saw me with him and started asking questions about him. I told him that Michael and I loved each other. Mr. Zona seemed quite kind. He suggested that Michael come to work for him, adding that it would be wonderful for both of us.

- Do you think he had some ulterior motive? - Gaunt asked.

- I'm sure he did," she answered. - I firmly believe that Zona hired Michael because he had no experience in nightclubs. He didn't know anything about them. Zona looked at him as a young fool who could go to work at the Manchester Club as a manager and who would have to take over if things went badly, and accept the responsibility that would fall directly on Zona's shoulders.

- Take over, but what, Miss Grey? - he asked.

He threw the butt into the fire and lit a new cigarette.

- 'I don't know exactly,' she answered, 'but Michael will find out and then he will tell me.

Gaunt smoked silently for several minutes. He thought about his conversation with Inspector Rickett last night. Had Lorimer inadvertently learned what Rickett suspected?

- What do you think about what happened there? - He asked.

She shook her head.

- I don't know; I can only assume that something illegal was going on there. Michael probably realized that he was caught between a sense of loyalty to me, and perhaps to the Zone, and the interests of the cause. I believe Michael told Zona what he knew and offered to stop this illegal business, whatever it was. I think it scared Zona, and I think it's not just Zona. His old friends and companions may be guessing that Michael knows too much.

- I understand," Gaunt said. - So you think this phone call from Zona was the first step in a conspiracy hatched against Michael to frame him for a false accusation?

She nodded her head.

- I'm sure of it.

Gaunt went to the window and looked out into the street. It was dark, and in the patches of light from the streetlights he could see the rain pouring down like a bucket.

- Explain to me why Lorimer did not come here with you today. - he asked. - Don't you think that if what you say is true, then you should reveal your cards. It seems to me that everyone revolves in his own circle. You are afraid of something, your friend is afraid of something. Am I afraid of something, too?

She smiled, not merrily.

- You don't seem like a man who can be easily frightened, Mr. Gaunt. What are you afraid of?

- My only fear is that I shall not discover the truth," he answered, "or that I shall discover it so late that something irreparable will happen before I can do anything about it. But you haven't answered my question, why didn't Lorimer come with you today?

- 'There's a simple reason for that,' she replied. - 'He is not in London. I sent him away from here.

Gaunt raised his eyebrows.

- You probably find it suspicious, Mr. Gaunt," she went on. - I saw a spark of mistrust flicker in your eyes. It took me a great deal of work to persuade Michael to leave London, but I think it would be the best thing. I think Michael should go back to Manchester and try to get his old job to get out of this atmosphere of mistrust and suspicion. Isn't that unreasonable?

- No, I don't think so," Gaunt said. - But if he was in danger when he was at the Zone, he'll be in even more danger in Manchester. While he was there, Zone and company were watching him.

She nodded her head.

- So, have you come to my point, Mr. Gaunt?

He shook his head.

- Oh no, Miss Grey. I work for the Zone because I took money from him. I had no reason not to believe what he told me before. Keep that in mind," he grinned. - A lot of people seem to think he's a crook. Maybe I'll think so, too; we'll see.

He took another cigarette from the silver cigarette case on the table.

- Didn't Michael, when he left you, think you would be in any danger?

- Oh, yes, he did," she confirmed. - It took me a long time to convince him to leave. He's convinced that the Zone and his friends will stop at nothing. Thinking Michael knows something, they'll be ruthless to me, too. That's why he told me I had to carry a gun. - She clicked the lock of her purse.

Gaunt pressed his lips together.

- Is it really that bad? - He wondered. - Do you know how to handle a gun, Miss Gray?

She smiled.

- I'm good enough. I'm a pretty good shot, though I've never had to use a gun like that.

- Let me see it," he asked.

She opened her purse and pulled out a shiny .32-caliber colt.

Gaunt walked over to her, took the gun from her hands and examined it.

- It's a fine gun," he said. - I have one myself. This gun has a state-of-the-art safety. But I doubt it's as good as the old model. Wait a minute.

He opened the door, went into another room, and returned a few minutes later with another gun. He explained to her the difference between the two guns and showed her the new type of safety mechanism. Then he returned the gun to her.

- Maybe Lorimer is right, it's not bad to have a gun. But I don't think so," he grinned. - I'm convinced that those who carry guns get killed," he added.

There was determination in her eyes.

- I have made up my mind, Mr. Gaunt," she said. - We're going to start showing our cards. I thought about it all morning before I sent Michael away. I was going to have a frank talk with Zona. One way or another, I was going to get the truth out of him. I was going to end this murky business and keep Michael and myself safe.

- Aren't you being a little dramatic, Miss Grey? Is this case really as serious as you claim?

- Yes," she nodded her head. - I called Zona this afternoon. I was going to meet him at his apartment at seven o'clock. It's going to happen one way or another. I'm going to warn him that I'm going to do everything I can to protect Michael, no matter what happens.

Gaunt said nothing. He thought about his visit to the Zone at half past eight. There was a pause. They could hear the rain pounding against the windows, then Gaunt said:

- Let me give you some advice, Miss Grey. Don't go to him. Leave it alone.

- Why do you say that? - she wondered.

He shrugged his shoulders.

- Call it a premonition," he answered. - But I've told you my cards, so I'll tell you. I am going to pay a visit to the Zone at half past eight in the evening. He and I are going to have a long talk. Maybe I'll unravel it. It's possible that some of what you told me is true. But Zona is a tough guy. He's probably gone too far. Let's see what he's going to tell me. I think I can give him some good advice. I think that would be the best thing, don't you?

She stood up.

- I suppose so, Mr. Gaunt," she agreed. - You're probably being honest with me. Anyway, I'm going to be honest with you, too. I have nothing more to add. I don't know whose side you're on at the moment. But you work for the Zone, and as long as you do, I'm not going to take any chances. I want me and Michael to be happy. I'm going to see Zona tonight, and I'm going to end this thing once and for all.

Gaunt smiled wryly.

- All right, Miss Grey," he went on, "do as you please. Tell me, what time are you going to the club?

- Not too late," she answered, putting her furs in order. - I usually go there at half-past twelve.

- I see," said Gaunt. - 'I want to make you an offer. Let's have dinner tomorrow night at nine o'clock. We'll both see the Zone. Perhaps we can exchange a few more ideas for our mutual benefit. How do you feel about that?

She looked at him. He was glad she was smiling.

- There are times when I really like you," she exclaimed. - Yes, I would like to have lunch with you. Thank you.

- Fine," said Gaunt. - We'll meet at Ladrell's Restaurant at nine o'clock. I'll wait for you, all right?

- That will be fine," she agreed. - Good-bye, Mr. Gaunt.

He closed the door behind her as soon as she left the room. Then he went back to his chair and started blowing rings of smoke.

* * *

At six o'clock the phone rang in the next room. A buzzer buzzed on Gaunt's desk. He picked up the phone.

- Mr. Zona is on the line," he heard Josephine's voice. - He wants to talk to you. He assures me it is extremely important.

- Well, put him through.

Gaunt waited. Zona's hoarse voice was heard.

- Zona, what happened to you? - Gaunt asked. - I can't hear you very well.

- I don't feel well, Mr. Gaunt," replied Zona. - I've got a bad cold, and I've been home all day.

Gaunt grinned.

- 'Take care of yourself,' he advised. - It would be very bad if you got pneumonia. You could die from that.

- I can die of other causes, Gaunt," he answered. - I called you because I had a telephone conversation today. Someone was trying to impersonate Miranda Gray.

- I don't understand," Gaunt wondered.

- Somebody pretended to be her. The woman telephoned at four o'clock in the afternoon, and she sounded very threatening. She said she had sent Lorimer out of London and that I could not reach him because he was in a safe place. She warned me not to try to look for him. If I did anything against him, she would kill me.

Walter

The Walther ladies' pistol is a classic small-caliber weapon. Founded in 1886, it began producing similar devices in 1911. And it was the pocket pistols that brought the company worldwide fame.

ladies walter pistol

In total five models of Walther mini revolvers were produced:

  1. The former was compact and lightweight, with open breechblock and striker type of mechanism. The magazine held 6 rounds of 6.35mm ammunition.
  2. The next version, patented in 1913, had a concealed trigger and a rear sight to indicate the presence of rounds in the chamber.
  3. The third version of these little Walther pistols was a rarity (only 3,500 were made). It featured an increased caliber to 7.65 mm, but had a pesky flaw: cartridges ejected through the side window caught in the shooter's field of vision and distracted him.
  4. The fourth version was the eight-shot equivalent of the third, with simplified disassembly and enlarged barrel.
  5. The last model was an improved version of the second issue, but only with a fixed rear sight and four rifling in the pistol barrel's bore.

Sketches of the pistol tattoo and choice of location.

In the case of girls, the gun tattoo sketches are distinguished by the subtlety and elaborateness of the drawing. Often you can find variants supplemented with a stocking garter, under which hides a small-caliber weapon, such as a revolver. The fashion for such designs went in the 80's after intriguing stories about spy girls. Such a pattern speaks of sexuality, playfulness and caution of its wearer.

No less popular are the sketches of the tattoo gun on the hand, made in the style of watercolor with a black outline. Such a drawing is equated with a talisman or talisman, which will protect against bad luck and trouble.

More rare are images of a gun with a flower inserted in the muzzle. Usually such sketches indicate a peaceful disposition and pacifism of the nature. In the event that there is blood in the drawing, the meaning of the drawing is attributed to the loss of a loved one.

"Vesta."

The popular small-caliber Spanish "Vesta" pistol is of the Eibar type (Eibar is a Spanish city that was the real gun capital of the 20th century). This automatic weapon was a 6.35 mm or 7.65 mm caliber, six-shot magazine.

BB gun

The main difference of the Vesta was the location of the safety above the trigger, in the middle. Otherwise the gun resembled the legendary Browning, described below.

Browning

The design of the Belgian John Moses Browning was a real breakthrough in the ladies' gun industry in the early twentieth century. "The Browning Baby saw the light of day in 1906. The miniature pistol was 114 mm long and the caliber was standard for such weapons - 6.35 mm. The Browning pistol was used by the Red Army until the 1930s, when it was replaced by the similar Soviet Korovin.

Series production of Browning revolvers ended by the beginning of World War II. By that time about one million copies of the weapon had been produced. The model became a prototype for many developments of gunsmiths from the United States, Spain, Germany and other countries.

The meaning of the tattoo gun

Naturally, everyone puts their own meaning into the tattoo. However, there are symbols that all cause approximately the same association. So, what does the gun tattoo mean:

  • Courage. Such a tattoo indicates that the person is alien to fear, he boldly goes through life, not paying attention to obstacles.
  • Determination. Only a determined man can dare to pull the trigger. Tattoo gun on his leg or on any other part of the body indicates that its owner does not waste time on meaningless hesitation, he can quickly make important decisions and take responsibility for them.
  • Independence. If you see someone has a tattoo of a gun on his chest or, for example, on the forearm, it is possible that the person wants to declare to society that he is independent of others' opinions, of the existing order. No matter how he is treated by others, he will continue to act as his inner voice prompts him.
  • The ability to stand up for himself. This value is relevant to both men and women. Many are still captive to stereotypes, believing that a fragile girl needs a strong protector, because she is not able to stand up for herself. Sometimes, of course, it happens, but society has long crossed the stage of development in which physical strength decides everything. Gun tattoos in girls indicates that the expression "the weaker sex" has long since lost its relevance. Naturally, in this case, the ability to defend themselves is seen in a broad sense, because everyone needs not only physical protection.
  • Disregard for the rules. A man with a tattoo of a gun on his wrist or forearm openly declares that all those conventions and formalities that people have invented are alien to him, because they only complicate life. There is, of course, a certain rationality in this, for by freeing ourselves from unnecessary thoughts aimed at observing these conventions, we would have time for more important things.
  • Strength. It's about strength of mind, physical strength the gun tattoo designation refers to to a lesser extent. Seeing someone have a tattoo of a gun on the back or some other part of the body, we can conclude that the person has a strong will. Perhaps there were events in his life that made him become stronger.
  • All-armed. This is evidenced by the tattoo of two guns. The owner of the tattoo is always on guard, in order to respond with dignity to the offender if necessary, he is ready for any vicissitudes of fate.
  • Rebellious spirit. The meaning of the tattoo gun is often reduced to the fact that the person is trying to oppose the existing system. He does not share the ideals that society imposes on him, guided only by his own opinion.
  • Self-confidence. Wherever the tattoo of a gun is located, on the thigh, shoulder blade or shoulder, it always speaks of inner confidence. If the owner of such a tattoo makes any decision, it means he is confident in it, he does not suffer from complexes and tries to assess himself as objectively as possible.
  • The image of the gun is also found in the tattoos of prisoners: tattoo gun and a rose means blood for treason. But do not think that if you want to depict a gun with roses on your body, you will be taken for a criminal. First, a tattoo made in a prison cell and the work of a talented master in a salon will differ significantly in appearance. Secondly, tattoo culture has long ago transcended the boundaries of certain segments of society or professions.
